About Rou Gui - Chinese Oolong Tea
Excellent, full-leaf rolled oolong. 50% oxidized, beautiful gold and copper tones on the dry leaf. One small measure of dry tea will brew several cups of tea liquor.
A Few Words On Taste
You will note a pronounced perfumed aroma to the dark liquor. Complex flavor profile, the most notable quality is reminiscent to over-ripe stone fruit. The finish is slightly dry with a distinct apricot flavor. We do recommend sweetener or milk for this tea.
Brewing Instructions
- Fill your kettle with freshly drawn water from the purest available source.
- Heat the water to boiling.
- Measure approximately 1 rounded tsp. of the rou gui per 6-8 ounces of water.
- Place the tea in your preferred brewing vessel: teapot, filter basket, large tea ball, etc.
- Pour the heated water over the tea and steep for 3 minutes, (if a longer time is allowed the tea may become bitter) then serve.
- Steep this tea 2 more times. The 2nd and 3rd infusions can be the best.
