About Five Dragon Mountain - Organically Grown Oolong Tea
The Wuyan region of China produces some of the best Oolong teas. This particular tea is organically grown high in the mountains. The leaf is long, twisted and dark brown in color. It is about 70% oxidized.
A Few Words On Taste The aroma of the dry leaf and liquor is a touch sweet with a hint of brown sugar and biscuits. The tea brews a dark amber cup with a good tannic structure. The finish is dry like a dry red wine. We do not recommend the addition of sweetener or milk.
Brewing Instructions
- Fill your kettle with freshly drawn water from the purest available source.
- Heat the water to 195° F (90.6°C).
- Measure 1 Tblsp. of tea per 6-8 ounces of water.
- Place the tea in your preferred brewing vessel: teapot, filter basket, large tea ball, etc.
- Pour the heated water over the tea, thoroughly wetting all the leaves. Steep for 2-3 minutes (if a longer time is allowed the tea may become bitter), then serve.
- Steep this tea 2 or more times. The 2nd and 3rd infusions are often the best.
